What happened # Apple announced the iPad Air with M4 chip, adding Wi-Fi 7 support through its custom N1 wireless networking chip and C1X cellular modem. The M4 chip delivers up to 30% faster performance than the M3-powered previous generation, while memory bandwidth increased from 100GB/s to 120GB/s.
The unified system memory jumped 50 percent to 12GB of RAM, up from 8GB in the previous iPad Air. The M4 chip includes an 8-core CPU, 9-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine. Both 11-inch and 13-inch models are available at the same starting prices as before: $599 and $799 respectively.
